2020 was one of the most challenging years anyone has had to deal with in piece time. As a wedding photographer, it was tough and heartbreaking supporting all my couples with their ever-changing wedding day plans due to uncertainties completely out of their control.
But! There was one full day wedding that down to sheer grit and determination made it through the craziness of 2020!
Melissa & Jamie had been planning their wedding for a long time. These guys were so determined to get married in 2020 and it was really exciting when the day came! It’s not often you see such punchy and daring pinks being used so liberally on a wedding day but my gosh it worked so well for my fun, bubbly and outgoing couple! (I wish I could pull off a pink suit like that, total legend!)
The Castle at Edgehill
Melissa and Jamie officially married at Bodicote Registry Office. It was a very strange experience as at the time only a very limited amount of people were allowed inside the ceremony room. It was so nice seeing them emerge with beaming smiles and ready to head to The Castle!
An outfit change later it was time for the unofficial official ceremony at The Castle! But just before, one of the most precious moments I witnessed on my 2020 wedding calendar was Melissa’s mum putting on her veil. But this veil was worn by her mum at her wedding 30 years before! It was an incredibly emotional moment between mother and daughter and one I will cherish as a photographer.

The Castle at Edgehill overlooks some incredible Oxfordshire country side!
After having the most beautiful time on a sunset lit hillside, we all had the unfortunate task of walking back up the long steep hill! We were exhausted! But totally filled with happiness and excitement about what we had achieved together.
