Welcome to the blog of Holly and Lukes wedding in Oxfordshire!
So back in 2015 I had the privilege of photographing Holly’s brother’s wedding, and 3 years later I was so happy to receive an email from Holly asking me if I would like to photograph their wedding! YES!! I was so excited!
Both weddings started at St Mary’s Church in Kidlington Oxfordshire (My local church!) It’s such a beautiful church, with a huge 220ft spire which can be seen for miles around, and inside there is so much amazing light and very tall ceilings. A stunning place to get married to the person you love most in the world, I can see why Holly & Luke wanted to get married there too.
After the most beautiful wedding service at St Mary’s it was time for Holly & Luke to jump into their wedding car, and the lucky guests to board a gorgeous vintage bus for the journey to Lains Barn near Wantage.
As soon as Holly & Luke arrived I could see the light was looking really nice over by the old grain store. Before going down into the main courtyard, I took them over for some lovely one-on-one photos before the golden sunlight disappeared! It’s so nice when couples trust my judgement, I really enjoy making lovely signature images for my couples!
And lucky me! The Vintage Bus was happy to hang around for a little while so I could take my couple to the top deck for some back seat loving images!
Welcome to Lains Barn in Oxfordshire!
Every time I have had the pleasure of attending Lains Barn, I have always felt this is a wedding venue you can truly relax at and just enjoy everyone’s company around you. The large immaculately grassed courtyard is surrounded on three sides by a beautiful barn, outbuildings and now a newly installed patio which looks amazing! It’s a great location for me to capture in my natural and genuine photography style.
This is my proudest image of the entire wedding. Here I am stood with 3 of my wedding couples! Holly & Luke (Obvs!) Holly’s brother Nicky with his wife Laura from 2015, and best Man Ollie and his wife Ellie from 2013! So much history here and pride that I was there for all their weddings. Love you all!
Time to head in for the speeches
It’s surprisingly not very often I get a bride saying she would like to do a bouquet throw! One of the oldest traditions going, but when one happens it’s a very exciting moment…..Until the boyfriend see’s his girlfriend walking towards him with a bouquet! HeHe!
Time to relax and reflect after dinner!
After a nice relaxing time in the courtyard of Lains Barn, and a rather nervous boyfriend getting over the shock, it was time for the cake cutting; or rather cake stuffing into grooms mouth!
The bride, groom and guests are then unleashed to the awesome mixing skills of my good friend Matt the DJ and his amazing lighting setup!
